Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for the week of May 7-13. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 23 and 24, Volcano Highway and Aliʻi Anela Street , on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and grass cutting.

PĀHALA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 52 and 56, Maile Street and Ninole Loop Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting and shoulder work.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 108 and 109, Koa Road and Nanaina Lani Place, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and grass cutting.

— HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 2.5 and 2.7, Shipman Street and Puʻueo Street, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Wailuku Stream Bridge improvement work.

HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, May 7 through Friday, May 13, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. See https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/weight-limit-for-kolekole-bridge-now-12-tons/ for details.

NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 16 and 17, Leopolino Road and Kauniho Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

HONOKAʻA

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 44 and 45, Waipahi Place and Kapuna Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— QUEEN KAʻAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) —

WAIKŌLOA

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 69 and 75, Hapuna Beach Road and Waikōloa Beach Drive, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD/KEAʻAU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

KEAʻAU

Single lane closure on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawaiʻi Belt Road and Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

KEAʻAU

Single lane closure on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawaiʻi Belt Road and Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of traffic signal indicators.

PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa -Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

KAMUELA TO HAWĪ

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 14 and 16, Puʻuhue Road and Kaʻauhuhu Homestead Road, on Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.
