A summer program focused on English language literacy, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics) and Hawaiian language and culture is now accepting registrations for its 2022 installment.

The La‘i‘ōpua 2020 Enrichment Program offers elementary school students creative and interactive curriculum in those three focus areas. Registration is now open for this year’s program, which will be hosted at the Konawaena and Kealakehe elementary schools.

This free program runs from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. from June 6-July 15, except June 10 and July 4. The Kealakehe program will accept students in grades K-7 and the program is available for students in grades K-5 at Konawaena. Keiki can be from any school, home-schooled or visiting relatives for the summer.

The ALOHA code of conduct will be observed, and small class sizes, one teacher to 10 students, create opportunities for individual attention.
