Weekly Road Closures: April 16-22
The state Department of Transportation announced its weekly lane and road closures for April 16-22. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Friday, April 15 in observance of Good Friday, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational.
— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —
1) MOUNTAIN VIEW
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 22 and 23, Old Volcano Road and Ali‘i Kane Street, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.
2) PĀHALA
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 52 and 56, Maile Street and Ninole Loop Road, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting and shoulder work.
3) KONA
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 107 and 109, Rabbit Hill Road and Māmalahoa Highway, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.
— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —
1) HILO
Right lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) in the northbound direction near mile marker 2.5, Shipman Street and Wailuku Drive, on Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Wailuku Stream Bridge repair work.
2) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Friday, April 15 through Friday, April 22, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.
3) HAKALAU
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 13.8 to 15.4, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Hanamalo Loop, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for testing on and around Hakalau Bridge.
4) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)
Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph.
5) PA‘AUILO
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 32 and 38, Ke Ehia Place and Kalopa Road, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for tree removal.
6) HONOKA‘A
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 45 and 46, Kapuna Road and Homestead Road, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 69 and 75, Hapuna Beach Road and Waikōloa Beach Drive, on Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawai‘i Belt Road and Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road, on Friday, April 15, and Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of new traffic signal indicators.

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Friday, April 15, and Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.
