18 Deaths Reported Saturday

The state Department of Health reported 1,278 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 225,535. Eighteen new fatalities were reported.

A total of 192 new infections were identified Saturday on the Big Island. The Hawai’i County Civil Defense reported 3,084 active cases, and 37 persons hospitalized.

Today, Saturday, community testing is scheduled at the Old Kona Airport pavilion, Waimea District Park, and Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.  All events are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A total of 7,667 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,222 have died.
