The U.S. Postal Service has begun taking orders for free at-home COVID-19 test kits.

Originally slated to take orders Wednesday, Jan. 19, the website COVIDtests.gov, did a soft launch today, Jan. 18 to help prepare for the full launch of the site tomorrow morning.

Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order four rapid tests, which the Postal Service says will be shipped for free in late January.

According to an article from NPR, the White House states it will prioritize shipments to Americans from ZIP codes that have experienced high rates of COVID-19 cases and deaths, with the first 20% of each day’s orders going to those areas.
