Gun Found at Honolulu Airport Makes TSA Top 10 List of 2021 Catches

A weapon confiscated at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) last April made Transportation Security Administration’s top 10 list of catches at airports nationwide in 2021.

The firearm, built into a belt buckle ranked seventh on TSA’s list. According TSA oiffcials, A .22 caliber Derringer was found in the carry-on luggage of a person ticketed for travel to San Francisco International Airport. It was discovered at the airport’s security checkpoint, when a TSA officer saw the image of a firearm on the X-ray screen.

TSA immediately notified the Hawaiʻi State Sheriff, which responded to the security checkpoint. The individual was arrested on a state charge. Click here for the story.
