Police Seeking Hilo Runaway

Hawai‘i Island police are looking for 16-year-old Kelis Garmon-Mercado of Hilo, who is reported as a runaway. She was last seen at her residence on Wednesday, Jan. 12, and is believed to have left the residence before 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13.

She is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 6 inches, 300 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. She is known to frequent the downtown Hilo area.

Police ask anyone with information on Kelis Garmon-Mercado’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Officer John Chiquita at john.chiquita @hawaiicounty.gov.
