Surge Continues With 1,592 New Cases

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 1,592 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 123,456. No new fatalities were reported.

A total of 120 new infections were identified Tuesday on the Big Island. The Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reports 1,935 active cases, and 18 persons hospitalized.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

  • O‘ahu: 88,061
  • Hawaiʻi: 14,029
  • Maui: 12,803
  • Kaua‘i: 4,341
  • Moloka‘i: 400
  • Lana‘i: 196
  • Pending: 0
  • Out-of-State: 3,626

A total of 5,292 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,094 have died.
