Public Safety Update: 51 inmate tests at HCCC, three positives

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities, published Monday, Dec. 27, are as follows:

Halawa Correctional Facility – Nine positive staff test results, 23 negative inmate test results.

Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center – 51 inmate test results: three positive, 48 negative. The one previously reported positive employee has recovered.

O‘ahu Community Correctional Center –37 inmate test results: three positive, 34 negative. Two positive staff test results.

Maui Community Correctional Center – Nine staff test results: one positive, eight negative. Four negative inmate test results.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – 106 negative inmate test results. Two previously reported positive employees have recovered.

Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center – Seven negative inmate test results. The one previously reported positive employee has recovered.

Waiawa Correctional Facility – One previously reported positive employee has recovered.

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Sheriff Division (Hilo Section) – One positive employee test result.

Administrative Division (O‘ahu) – One previously reported positive admin employee located on O‘ahu has recovered.
