Kalapana Transfer Station Closed for Upcoming Holidays

Kalapana Transfer Station in Puna will be closed in observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day to allow employees to spend time with their families.

The transfer station will reopen the day after both holidays on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, 2022.
County officials remind the public that littering or illegally dumping any materials at closed transfer stations will not be tolerated.
