14 New COVID Cases Reported on Big Island

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 52 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 86,991. No new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 14 new infections were identified on the Big Island Tuesday. Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 291 active cases, and five persons hospitalized.

The state’s seven-day average is now 112 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%.

A total of 4,979 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,002 have died.
