DOH: Cumulative COVID Deaths Now Exceed 1K Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 218 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 86,522. Four new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 50 new infections were identified on the Big Island Friday. Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 335 active cases, and six persons hospitalized.

The state’s seven-day average is now 115 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.4%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 59,135
Hawai‘i: 11,584
Maui: 9,812
Kaua‘i: 2,974
Moloka‘i: 246
Lana‘i: 145
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,844

A total of 4,960 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,002 have died.
