29 New COVID Cases Reported on Big Island

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 138 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the statewide total to 85,628. Five new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 29 new infections were identified on the Big Island Friday. Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 300 active cases, and 10 persons hospitalized.

The state’s seven-day average is now 101 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.7%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 58,537
Hawai‘i: 11,363
Maui: 9,686
Kaua‘i: 2,860
Moloka‘i: 243
Lana‘i: 145
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,792

A total of 4,881 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 976 have died.
