The Hawai´i Fire Department (HFD) responded to a structure fire on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo Sunday evening.

Flames were visible within a two-bay concrete storage building in what HFD described as a fully-involved content fire, which resulted in several fire companies responding.

On-scene units pulled an attack line to the entrance of the building, where they encountered a bent security fence and two blocked doors. The doors were forced open and the fires were extinguished. The contents were a total loss but the building was saved, HFD said.

The area was overhauled and the scene turned over to the Hawai´i Police Department for investigation. No one was injured during the operation.
