Swell Summary

Surf along exposed north and west facing shores of the smaller islands will trend up through the day with the arrival of a long- period, north-northwest swell. Given the later than predicted arrival, a peak around the advisory thresholds for the smaller islands is expected later today through tonight as it builds down the island chain. Heights should dip below the advisory thresholds Monday, then quickly rise to warning levels Tuesday and Tuesday night as a larger, northwest swell arrives. Heights should dip below the warning levels Wednesday, then below advisory levels Thursday as this swell begins to ease and shifts out of the north. Surf along south facing shores will remain small with mainly a combo of background, southerly swells and short-period, southeast energy moving through. Surf along east facing shores will remain near flat levels through much of the week.
