A Puna man is wanted for questioning in connection to a domestic dispute involving gunshots in Kurtistown.

Brendon Hironaka

The reported incident occurred on Oct. 22, on Pohaku Drive. According to Hawaiʻi Police, responding officers learned the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Brendon Hironaka, and a female family member were involved in a verbal dispute when the confrontation turned physical within the living room.

Hironaka reportedly started throwing miscellaneous items at her, grabbed the front of her neck, and slammed her head numerous times against various items within the residence.

“Hironaka forcibly took control of a 25-caliber semi-auto pistol from the female relative and discharged several shots near her,” police stated in a press release Wednesday. “He then left the residence with the firearm and drove away in a 2002 white Toyota Camry bearing license plate ZGR420.”
