The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 144 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 82,394. Six new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 39 new infections were identified on the Big Island Sunday. The state’s seven-day average is now 114 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.8%.

A total of 4,587 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 872 have died.
