Big Island Weekly Lane Closures: Sept. 11-17

Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly road and lane closures for Sept. 11-17. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 28 and 32, Crater Rim Drive and Māmalahoa Highway, on Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road striping work.

KAʻŪ (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 63 and 65, Māmalahoa Highway and Kaʻalualu Road, on Saturday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 67 and 69.5, Lorenzo Drive and Māmalahoa Highway, on Tuesday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 0.0 and 8, Kamehameha Avenue and Keanu 9.5 mile cp, on Tuesday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 8 and 14, Kolekole Beach Park and Hanawi Street, on Tuesday, Sept.14 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HILO

Hawaiʻi County has created a detour on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) at mile marker 11.2 for the closure of the Makea Stream Bridge. Motorists should exercise caution and obey signage in the work area.

HĀMĀKUA

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 35.7 and 39.8, Chopper Boulevard and Paʻauilo Hui Road, on Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for roadway paving.
