Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly road and lane closures for Aug. 28 to Sept. 3.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 28 and 32, Crater Rim Drive and Māmalahoa Highway, on Monday, Aug. 30 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road striping work.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 73 and 75, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Tiki Lane, on Tuesday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

KONA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 103 and 110, between Kiilae Road and Napoʻopoʻo Road, on Saturday, Aug. 28 through Sunday, Aug. 29, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Monday, Aug. 30 through Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 1 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work.

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 113 and 116, Māmalahoa Highway and Walua Road, on Saturday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

— HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

HILO

Hawaiʻi County has created a detour on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) at mile marker 11.2 for the closure of the Makea Stream Bridge. Motorists should exercise caution and obey signage in the work area.

HĀMĀKUA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 14 and 19, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Waikolu Stream, on Saturday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HĀMĀKUA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 35.7 and 39.8, Chopper Boulevard and Paʻauilo Hui Road, on Saturday, Aug. 28 through Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 1 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for roadway paving.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 42 and 46, Mamane Street and Hawaiʻi Belt Road, on Saturday, Aug. 28 through Monday, Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 46 and 47, Homestead Road and Hawaiʻi Belt Road, on Tuesday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

Single lane closure on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) in both directions between mile markers 0.0 and 2.1, Hawaiʻi Belt Road and Opukahaia Street, on Friday evening, Aug. 27 through Monday morning, Aug. 30, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Monday, Aug. 30 through Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 1 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) in both directions between mile markers 20 and 21, near Puʻuanahulu Park, on Tuesday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.
