Puna Man Faces Burglary, Property Damage Charges

A Puna man is facing charges of burglary and property damage following alleged crimes earlier this month.

Hawai’i Island Police have charged 35-year-old Thomas Bowers in connection with a burglary investigation from the Volcano Area.

After receiving tips from the public, Officers from the Puna Community Police Section and Officers from the Area I Special Enforcement Unit located wanted suspect Thomas Bowers at a store in Volcano.  He was wanted in connection with a warrant of arrest for burglary in the first degree and criminal property damage in the first degree.

On May 12, 2021, after conferring with prosecutors, Bowers was charged for both offenses. 

His bail was set at $20,000.  He made his first court appearance on May 14, 2021, and remains in custody at Hawai’i Community Correction Facility.
