Fire Destroys Unoccupied Wooden Structure in Puna

No injuries were reported after a structure fire in Puna Tuesday afternoon, April 6.

Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to the blaze on Elepaio Road in Volcano Village at approximately 5 p.m. When they arrived on scene, crews found a 20-foot-by-20-foot structure fully engulfed in flames. The wooden structure was empty and unoccupied.

Damages are estimated to be $10,000. The incident is currently under investigation.
