A National Weather Service has issued a flash flood advisory for the South Kohala and North and South Kona Districts.

Rain is falling at a rate of two inches per hour and is expected to continue throughout the day.

All residents in flood-prone areas are asked to remain alert for flooding conditions. Heavy rainfall and ponding will cause hazardous driving conditions. There are no reported road closures at this time, but be aware that road closures may occur without notice.

Do not attempt to cross flowing or rising water in your vehicle or on foot; turn around, don’t drown.
