Heavy Rain Results in Wasterwater Discharge from Papaikou Wastewater Treatment Plant

Approximately 400,000 gallons of wastewater was discharged in waters fronting the Papaikou Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The spill, which occurred this afternoon, March 9, has stopped and was a result of heavy rain. Warning signs have been posted and the public is advised to remain out of these waters until warning signs have been removed.
