8 PM, Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019: Low-Pressure Area South of Hawai‘i Island

Disorganized showers and thunderstorms centered about 500 miles south-southwest of Honolulu are associated with an area of low pressure. Some slow development of this disturbance is possible during the next several days while the system moves slowly northwestward.

  • Formation chance through 48 hours: low, near 0%.
  • Formation chance through five days: low, 20%. 

An area of low pressure is located around 1,000 miles southeast of the Big Island of Hawai‘i. Some slow development of this disturbance is possible during the next several days while the system moves slowly west-northwestward.

An area of low pressure is expected to form Friday through Saturday around 900 miles SE of the Big Island of Hawai‘i.

Some development is possible thereafter while the system moves WNW through early next week.
