Magic Sands Closed After Shark Sighting

Hawai‘i Civil Defense announced Magic Sands Beach in Kona is closed as of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, due to a confirmed shark sighting.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources reported the beach will remain closed until an assessment is conducted in the morning.

Follow all instructions from Ocean Safety personnel. The public will be informed of changes that may affect safety.
