HCFCU Raises $11,000 during ‘Relay for Life’
Hawai‘i Community Federal Credit Union branches across the island raised more than $11,000 during the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life marathon fundraiser held on July 14, 2018.
HCFCU’s Kailua-Kona, Kaloko and Kealakekua raised the funds through in-branch ribbon sales, Punalu’u Sweet Bread sales and other campaigns. HCFCU was one of 25 teams that raised more than $60,000 in total for the cause.
“This was such a tremendous effort for our team, HCFCU members, and the entire community,” said Tricia Buskirk, Hawai‘i Community Federal Credit Union president and CEO. “We recently had the privilege to team with other Hawai‘i Island Credit Unions at the Relay for Life of Hilo and we’re looking forward to the Relay for Life of North Hawai‘i coming up in September.”
HCFCU is a nonprofit, federally insured financial institution owned by 40,000 members with branches in Honoka‘a, Kailua-Kona, Kaloko, Kealakekua and Kohala, along with Student Credit Unions in Kealakehe, Kohala and Konawaena High Schools. In 2018, HCFCU will open its first branch in Hilo.
