The Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to an accident at 8:06 a.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the 44 mile marker of Highway 11 in the Pahala District.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a person had been ejected from a vehicle in a one-car rollover type motor vehicle accident and was pronounced dead on arrival.
