Parker Dramatiques Present ‘A Chorus Line’

Parker School Dramatiques present the famous 1975 Broadway musical A Chorus Line: High School Edition as the school’s spring production.

Parker School presents “A Chorus Line”.

Set on a bare stage, A Chorus Line examines a day in the lives of seventeen dancers, as they audition for a spot in the “chorus line” of a Broadway musical.  After a vigorous series of dance numbers and the first round of cuts, the director and choreographer ask each dancer to share their personal history and aspirations before making the final cut.  By the end of the show, the audience can identify with each dancer, see their individuality and understand why each has chosen to endure a life of rejection, injury and heartache to perform. This critically acclaimed box office hit ran on Broadway for fifteen years and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

A Chorus Line will be performed by Parker students in the school’s historic theatre at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28; and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 and Sunday, April 29.  This production is recommended for those 12 years and older.  Run time is approximately 90 minutes and will be presented without an intermission. Tickets are available at the door at $10 for general admission and $5 for all students.

Dramatiques is Parker School’s after-school performing arts program which consists of students in grades six through twelve, who offer a fall and spring production each year. Parker students are involved in both onstage and behind-the-scenes aspects of this production.
