Basketball ‘FUN da Mentals’ Camp & Clinic
The Big Island Sports Academy (BISA) announces the Youth Basketball FUN da Mentals Camp and Clinic for boys and girls ages 8 through 13 at Pana‘ewa Community Park Gymnasium on Saturday, March 3, 2018.
The BISA, is a community-based nonprofit formed under the leadership of former athletic director at Konawaena High School and the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo Bill Trumbo.
Trumbo is committed to enriching the opportunities for Big Island youth, through sports, teaching and through the development of young players.
The clinic is conducted by Coach John Livsey, the youth basketball coordinator for BISA. Coach Livsey will teach and conduct the clinic with the assistance of some of the island’s top youth coaches.
Progression fundamental teaching will be featured and activities will be used to make the one-day camp a learning experience. Coach Livsey has a background as a high school and college head coach, as well as experience as a college assistant coach. Coach Livsey has also has a background in camp leadership.
A $25 fee is charged and includes insurance, camp T-shirt, lunch and instruction. A handbook will be provided for each of the campers. For those families who require a waiver of fee, a limited number of scholarships for eligible participants are available throughout the island.

Registration on the day of the event is $30. BISA is a registered nonprofit in the State of Hawai‘i. Donations and sponsorship are appreciated.
