Artists in every medium will have a chance to learn professional techniques to help them sell their work in Hawaiʻi. Artist Gwendolyn O’Connor will demonstrate documentation techniques to prepare artworks for galleries, competitions and more in the “Professional Documentation for Artists” workshop on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at Volcano Art Center.
The workshop will emphasize methods for preparing a certificate of authenticity, artist biography, and artwork title and description. Participants will engage in hands-on, step-by-step preparations for documenting any medium of art.
Attendees are asked to bring a laptop computer or electronic device with a word processor or Adobe Photoshop software, or a notebook for writing. Students should also bring a photograph of themselves, or be prepared to be photographed. Professional photographer Lester Brandt will be present to take photos for artists’ biographies.

O’Connor is an internationally renowned artist, creating award-winning works displayed in public and private exhibitions around the world. Raised in Hawaiʻi and a current resident of Hawaiʻi Island, she was influenced by artwork at the Honolulu Academy of Arts on Oʻahu, the Louvre Museum and Musee d’Orsay in France.
