The frost rail—an icy strip on a bartop that keeps beer and cocktails chilled—is one of many features that makes A-Bays Bar and Grill enjoyable.

The dining spot, located in the Kings’ Shops at the Waikoloa Beach Resort, serves a variety of 24 beers on tap from its state-of-the-art, electronic, direct draw beer system, which focuses on Hawai‘i-based microbreweries.

“A-Bay’s,” as it has now become known to locals, is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, pau hana and late-night get-togethers.

The menus created by renowned Big Island Chef Darcy Ambrosio offer a satisfying selection of local favorites, seafood and Pacific Rim cuisine.

Among the dishes are seafood crab cakes, “Lechon”( Crispy Pork Belly) and Steamed Moi with hot peanut oil

Breakfast options include Chef Darcy’s famous house-made corned beef hash with eggs made to order over fried rice, Punalu‘u sweet bread orange blossom French toast and A-Bay’s buttermilk pancakes with caramelized bananas and macadamia nuts.

Patrons may sit indoors in an air-conditioned dining space and bar area, or dine al fresco under umbrellas.

Indoors, big screen TVs also feature football games.

A-Bays is located at 250 Waikoloa Beach Drive, #J106, in Waikoloa, in the Kings’ Shops at the Waikoloa Beach Resort
