Farm Tours Offered During Kona Coffee Festival

Kona produces about 3.8 million pounds of coffee beans a year and is home to some 650 coffee farms, many of which welcome visitors.

Hawai‘i Island visitors and kama‘āina alike are invited to learn about the brew’s rich history on the Big Island, dating back to the 1800s.

Guests can learn about the island’s coffee pioneers, farming and harvesting techniques, and sample the world-famous Kona elixir.

For example, the Epic Island Volcano Journey offered by Hawaii Forest & Trail includes a guided visit to an award-winning Kona coffee farm, where guests will enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast and coffee samples.

The tour also includes a stop at a 1,000-acre tropical fruit farm.
