Hilo Hattie Announces New Store in Kona

Hilo Hattie will open a new 1,100 square-foot store at the Kona Inn Shopping Village in Kailua-Kona in early September 2017.

The local merchandiser will emphasize Hawai‘i Island-made gifts and fashions and employ approximately 10 staff members.

“All of us at Hilo Hattie are delighted to once again be opening a store on the Big Island,” said Donald B.S. Kang, president and CEO of Hilo Hattie’s parent company Pomare, Ltd. “Our mission has always been to share aloha, and we couldn’t be happier about our new location.”

Following the soft opening in early September, residents and visitors are invited to attend the official grand opening event planned for later in the month.

“I look at the opening of our new store as a statement that Hilo Hattie is back and better than ever,” said Mark Storfer, Hilo Hattie’s chief operating officer. “Our thanks go out to the community and the loyal shoppers who support made-in-Hawai‘i merchandise.”

The retailer said it will provide more information about the grand opening event and in-store specials as the date approaches. Kama‘aina discounts will apply including 25 percent off regular priced Hilo Hattie labeled fashions, 15 percent off other fashions and gifts, and 10 percent off Hilo Hattie labeled foods.

“The aloha spirit is alive and well in Kailua Kona and sharing that with visitors from around the world has always been extremely important for all of us,” said Kang.
