Hawai‘i Forest & Trail to Help Raise Funds for Habitat Blitz Build
Habitat for Humanity Hawai’i Island and Hawaii Forest & Trail are joining forces to raise money for the upcoming Blitz Build, and encourage volunteering for the community project.
Over ten days, Sept. 13 through 23, Habitat workers will be building 10 homes for 10 deserving West Hawai‘i families in the Kailua-Kona neighborhood of La’i ‘Opua.
There will be a fundraising challenge for those volunteers who wish to participate, with the grand prize of a private tour—the Kohala Waterfalls Adventure with Hawaii Forest & Trail—going to the team that raises the most.
The fundraising challenge began on Monday, July 31, just six-weeks before the Blitz Build.
Volunteers can sign-up in teams of 10, and begin fundraising by asking friends, family, coworkers and even local businesses to support their team.
“For 24 years, Hawaii Forest & Trail has been committed to helping causes that improve our community and island home,” said HF&T Director of Sales and Marketing Jason Cohn. “With the cost of living on the rise and homelessness continuing to affect Hawai‘i, Habitat for Humanity’s mission has never been more vital. We are humbled to have the opportunity to support such an important cause by providing a grand prize incentive for Habitat’s hard working volunteer staff.”
“We rely completely on our volunteers to build our homes, and we love partnering with local businesses,” said Habitat Community Relations Coordinator Amanda MacIntosh. “This is a great way to involve so many different facets of our community and also raise extra funds for our Blitz Build.”
All information for the fundraising challenge can be found online.
