Eight New Care Providers Join Kaiser Permanente
Eight new care providers have joined Kaiser Permanente facilities on O‘ahu, Maui and Hawai‘i.
They join more than 600 physicians and other health care providers within the state’s largest medical group, the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, which provides comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 245,000-plus members in Hawai‘i.
Kristen O’Dillon Goerg, MD, practices obstetrics and gynecology at Kona Medical Office. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program in Houston, Texas.
Matthew Murray, DO, joins the family medicine department at Kona Medical Office. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Georgia Campus – Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed his residency through the AnMed Family Medicine Residency Program in Anderson, South Carolina. Dr. Murray is board eligible in family medicine.
Julianne Griswold, DO, practices hospital medicine at Moanalua Medical Center. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dr. Griswold completed her internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, where she served as a resident representative on the Quality Improvement Committee.
Leslie Hurt, MD, joins the obstetrics and gynecology department at Waipio Medical Office. She received her medical degree from University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Gainesville, Florida, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Colorado in Denver. Prior to joining HPMG Dr. Hurt was at Partners in Women’s Health Riverside Medical Group in Williamsburg, Virginia. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Elizabeth Higgs, MD, practices hospital medicine at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente Hawai‘i, Dr. Higgs served as a hospitalist at Maui Memorial Medical Center under Maui Medical Group. She is board certified in internal medicine.
David Kato, MD, practices hospital medicine at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Kato served as a hospitalist at Maui Memorial Medical Center under Maui Medical Group. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Jay Parikh, MD, specializes in cardiology at Wailuku Medical Office. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Parikh completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in cardiovascular disease.
James Pitts, MD, specializes in ophthalmology at Honolulu Medical Office. He received his medical degree from University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Dr. Pitts also completed a glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
