Birdies for Builds Golf Tournament
Habitat for Humanity West Hawai‘i will hold its Birdies for Builds Golf Tournament at the Exclusive Club at Hokuli‘a in Kealakekua on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017.
The tournament will benefit the 2017 Blitz Build in September.
Habitat West Hawai‘i will celebrate its 15th year as an affiliate by building 10 new homes in just 10 days.
Between Sept. 13 and 23 in the La‘i ‘Opua neighborhood in Kailua-Kona, 10 West Hawaiian families will have their homes built by countless volunteers, local businesses and corporate sponsors.
The tournament will be a two-person team scramble, and will feature men’s and women’s long drive and a closest to the pin contests. Entry into the tournament is $300 for an individual, and $500 for a team. Breakfast and lunch is included, with beverages served throughout the round, and an awards ceremony. Players can register for the tournament by visiting www.habitatwesthawaii.org/events.
“We are really excited to do another golf tournament with Hokuli‘a,” said Executive Director Patrick Hurney. “Not only is it a fantastic course, but it’s a great opportunity for Habitat to raise funds for the Blitz Build. Anytime we can have fun with the community and support our programs, we take it.”
The Birdies for Builds Golf Tournament is one of many events to raise the needed funds for the homes.
