South: Wave heights are expected to be waist high or less today. Spots that are more open to the wrap will be bigger.

screen-shot-2016-11-24-at-11-05-15-pmNorthwest to north-northwest swell is expected through Saturday. The Big Island will be heavily shadowed from this swell which is expected to peak Saturday. East-northeast trades are creating a trade wind swell for the Hilo side, but it will be sloppy and pretty blown out.

Nothing significant is expected out of the SPAC this week. A gradual building of swell is expected out of the southwest on Sunday. Overlapping swells will continue through the 2nd.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
