A Wind Advisory is posted through 6 p.m. Thursday for east winds from 20 to 30 mph, gusting to 50 mph.
A Gale Warning is posted for the ʻAlenuihāhā channel and waters to the south of the Big Island through 6 p.m. Thursday.
A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all other Hawaii County waters through 6 p.m. Thursday.
A High Surf Advisory is posted for east facing shores until 6 p.m. Friday.

Looking Ahead
Trade winds will be strong and gusty into the holiday weekend. Low clouds and showers will focus over our windward and mauka spots with winds pushing moisture into lee spots from time to time. Trade winds are expected to weaken a bit on Sunday and Monday. An increase in showers is expected Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Mostly cloudy for windward spots with numerous showers in the morning and scattered showers in the afternoon. Hazy for the Kona side with with clear skies in the morning and building clouds in the afternoon and isolated showers. High temperatures from 80° to 85°. Winds will be out of the northeast from 15 to 30 mph, gusting to 40 mph.
