Kaʻū Firefighters Respond to Brush Blaze

Kaʻū station firefighters responded to a rapidly spreading brushfire at Ninole Loop below Sea Mountain Colony One Condominiums on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 9:03 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire involved approximately 1.5 acres of vacant land with a mixture of tall grass, brush and trees, with strong NNE winds contributing to its rapid spread.

The fire was extinguished at 3 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
