Hilo side: Wave heights are forecast from knee/chest high today. Small west-northwest from Lionrock also lingers for northern exposures but continues to drop.
Kona side: Wave heights are expected to be knee/chest high today as south-southwest continues to fills in.
South: Wave heights are expected to be knee/chest high today.
Lionrock swell continues to slowly drop through the day. Trade swell affects northeastern exposures.
Two long-period southerly swells will fill in through the early to mid-week period. Our current south-southwest swell is bringing waist/chest surf along the Kona coast. The second swell may near advisory levels along the southern shores by Wednesday. Swells will be fading for the second half of the week.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
