KAPA Hawaiian FM morning personalities Jaz and Ka‘ea welcomed Ku‘uipo Kumukahi to the KAPA Cafe.
Ku‘uipo grew up around music and taught herself how to play the ‘ukulele at a young age. Her first album received nine Nā Hōkū Hanohano nominations and five awards, which included “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “Traditional Hawaiian Album of the Year.”
She has performed at events such as the Aloha Festivals, the Merrie Monarch Festival, the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Concert and the Honolulu Festival. Ku‘uipo also created her own recording label and production/performance company.
