Clay Workshop for Keiki at Volcano Art Center
Preschoolers will have the opportunity to roll, squeeze, twirl, push and pull easy-to-sculpt clay into imaginative craft projects during a six-week “Fun WIth Clay” class at the Volcano Arts Center on June 1, from 9 to 10 a.m.
Parents and preschoolers will be able to make, glaze and fire earthenware clay.
The tactile nature of clay lets young children develop their imaginations and their motor skills while having fun. Simple forms turn into possibilities for discovery of shape, texture and color.
Clay allows the immediate materialization and realization of the imagination at virtually any developmental level. And, there is something very therapeutic about playing with clay—even as an adult.
Join instructor Lisa Louise Adams Wednesday mornings starting on June 1.
The Volcano Art Center’s Niualani Campus is located at 19-4074 Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village.
The cost for the six-week workshop is $55 and $50 for VAC members, plus a $15 materials fee.
No previous experience is needed. Just bring your joy of discovery and sense of adventure.
The Volcano Art Center is a nonprofit educational organization created in 1974 to promote, develop and perpetuate the artistic and cultural heritage of Hawai‘i’s people and environment through activities in the visual, literary, and performing arts.
