The Kilauea Drama Entertainment Network will host auditions for its annual summer musical in May.

“The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill, who poses as a boys’ band organizer and leader. He sells band instruments and uniforms to naïve Iowa townsfolk, promising to train members of the new band. Hill, however, is no musician and plans to skip town without giving music lessons. The plan is ruined when Hill falls for the town’s librarian.

Suzi Bond will direct the show, under the musical direction of Chris Tomich. The show will feature musical favorites, including “Seventy-six Trombones,” “Trouble,” “Till There Was You,” and “Gary, Indiana.”

Roles are open for all ages and include salemen, townsfolk, a barbershop quartet, and a band.
