KS-Hawai’i Alum Enriques Named to All-MPSF Second Team
Kamehameha-Hawai’i graduate and Stanford University sophomore Evan Enriques has made himself right at home as one of the top players at the libero position in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
Enriques, a 2014 KS-Hawai’i graduate, was named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men’s Volleyball Second Team on Thursday, capturing his first major collegiate award at Stanford.
This year, Enriques led the MPSF with 2.57 digs per set. He started all 24 matches this season at the libero position. Last year, he split time between the libero and outside hitter positions.
Among Enriques’ highlights in his sophomore season is a career-high 18 digs tallied against Long Beach State on Feb. 5. He also tied career-highs with four assists in two different matches this season.
Enriques was one of only three MPSF players at his position to receive conference recognition. Hawai’i’s Kolby Kanetake joined Enriques on the second team, and Long Beach State’s Andrew Sato was selected to the All-MPSF Third Team.
Stanford (19-5 overall, 17-5 MPSF) hosts UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the MPSF Men’s Volleyball Tournament. First serve is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday.
