Hoop Dreams and Wahine Ryders were the big winners at last weekend’s “Click It or Ticket” 14-and-under basketball tournament, hosted by the Hawai’i Isle Police Activities League at Andrews Gym in Hilo.

Seven teams and 54 children participated in the event.

Hoop Dreams beat Pāhoa 54-12 in the Boys division championship game. Keawe Silva scored 18 points, while Kia’i Apele added 10 for Hoop Dreams. Other team members on the winning team included Kaukahi Alameda, Macmillan Aloisio, Izayah Chartrand, Kilohana Hassenritter, Umi Kealoha, Guyson Ogata, Keegan Scanlan, and Kaupena Yasso.

In the Girls division title game, Wahine Ryders defeated Hoop Dreams Wahine by the final score of 34-16, led by Mindy Kawaha’s 11 points.

Joining Kawaha on the winning team was Asia Castillo, Jamila Collins-Ebanez, Zaelyn Lui, Keani Midel, and Tatiana Rideout.
