The Department of Water Supply plans a temporary water shut-off in Hilo on Tuesday.

All services along Manono Street, between Lanikaula Street and Leilani Street, will be turned off between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. as a hydrant tee is removed.

Once water services return, the lines will be flushed and cleaned. Customers may experience turbid and/or discolored water; as well as trapped air in plumbing, which will release as water is used.

Customers affected by the shut-off should take necessary precautions to protect their property and facilities that depend on water pressure or supply.
