A Wind Advisory is posted for the Big Island through 6 a.m. Wednesday for winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. This advisory may be extended if conditions persist.
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for most Big Island waters through 6 a.m. Thursday. A Gale Warning is posted for waters to the south of the Big Island and the Alenuihaha channel.
A High Surf Advisory is posted for the east side of the Big Island through 6 a.m. Thursday.
A Gale Warning is posted for all off shore waters.

Looking Ahead
Breezy trades are expected through Wednesday. Moisture from a dissipated frontal boundary will continue to produce showers over the smaller islands tonight then down to the Big Island on Wednesday. Rainfall will be focused along windward slopes with showers passing over leeward areas from time to time. Drier weather and decreasing trade winds are expected for the later part of the week, followed by potentially unsettled weather this weekend.

Today we expect mostly cloudy skies. Showers are likely for windward spots with partly cloudy skies and scattered afternoon showers for the Kona side. Breezy winds are out of the northeast from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. High temperatures from 78° to 84°.

Northeast winds are expected from 15 to 25 mph tonight with higher gusts. Low temperatures from 65° to 70° with mostly cloudy skies and showers likely for windward areas.
