State Lawmakers Nix Vaccination Bill
Hawai’i lawmakers killed a bill on Thursday that would have sped up the state’s process for adopting federal vaccination guidelines.
Under the bill, the Hawai’i Department of Health would have been allowed to adopt federal rules in an easier manner.
Many people felt the bill would have resulted in more vaccinations.
The Associated Press reported Thursday afternoon that the bill would have given DOH 90 days to adopt rules.
Senator Rosalyn Baker said the bill wouldn’t move forward after hearing opposition on Thursday. She made the announcement prior to the usual decision time, according to the AP.
