Start your day with a delicious green smoothie. This easy to make and nutrient dense smoothie features kale, banana, macadamia nuts, dates and coconut milk. There are no added sugars in this recipe, with natural sweetness provided by the bananas and dates.  Add some additional flavor with a pinch of cinnamon.

 

Ingredients:

2-3 large kale leaves, torn and with stem removed

2 -3  dates, pitted

1 frozen ripe large banana (Cavanaugh or Williams), or 2-3 frozen small bananas (such as apple bananas), skin removed

1/2 cup of coconut water

3-5 macadamia nuts

Pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend on the highest setting till smooth.
  2. Serve immediately.

Makes one serving.
