No Tsunami Threat Following 6.9M Indonesia Earthquake
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 6.9 magnitude earthquake near Kepulauan Talaud, Indonesia.
According to PTWC, the earthquake occurred Monday at 6:38 a.m. Hawai’i time.
United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 145 miles southeast of Sarangani, Philippines; 165 miles north-northwest of Tobelo, Indonesia; 166 miles south-southeast of Caburan, Philippines; 178 miles southeast of Glan, Phillipines; and 575 miles west-southwest of Koror Town, Palau.
